Mission Central is defined as a “program related” and “financially separate” entity with regard to its relationship with the Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church.

As a “program related” organization, Mission Central is governed by a board of directors, who help to assure that the activities of Mission Central are determined in such a manner as to be consistent with the tenets of the United Methodist Church and the social principles of our denomination.

While we do operate in this fashion, Mission Central’s main goal is helping people. In addition to working with many denominational, non-denominational, and independent faith based groups as well as public and private agencies, Mission Central ultimately seeks to help people in need… locally, nationally, and internationally.

Mission Central is also a member of the UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) Relief Network and maintains a very close working relationship with UMCOR. Mission Central does not receive financial support from UMCOR.

As a “financially separate” entity, Mission Central does not receive any financial support directly from the Conference and is not part of the Conference’s operating or mission budgets. Mission Central is funded by “extra mile giving”, donations from various organizations, corporate sponsors and individuals.
