See How You Can Help a Child This Christmas: MissionLink November 9, 2016

Coming soon we will have details on how you can help make a child’s Christmas shine bright.  Mission Central and Communities in Schools are teaming up with a goal of supporting at least 20 of the neediest families at that school (this could easily be 100 children).

Keep this in mind as you begin your holiday shopping.  They will need the basics, like winter clothing and school supplies, but also the children would love to have toys.

Don’t forget to use Amazon Smile for all of your online shopping and designate Mission Central as your beneficiary.  This is the same Amazon account that you always use, but when you got to Amazon Smile and choose Mission Central, a percentage of every purchase gets paid to Mission Central.  With Amazon Smile, you can support 2 causes at once!  Click the Amazon Smile logo for a direct link to log in and begin helping Mission Central!

In the meantime, our York District HUB at Fourth UMC, 1067 E. Market St, will be hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for 100 people (50 students plus 1 guest each) from Goode Elementary.  Any donations for this event can be delivered to Mission Central or to the York District HUB.  Please contact either Carolyn Fetrow (cfetrow@gmail.com) or Carol Galloway (cgmom56@comcast.net) for questions about donations/deliveries or other ways you can help the York District HUB.

Additionally, Communities in Schools will be making 40 Thanksgiving food boxes and will need a turkey for each box.  Mission Central can accept your turkey donations.

As always, we thank you for all that do and we look forward to working with everyone to assure a magical Christmas for these children!
