We had amazing supporters this year. Some people gathered pledges, some got groups to walk together and we learned of one really great story. Pastor James McGee from the 5 Mountain Charge (4 churches – Bloomingdale, Hunlock Creek, Muhlenberg and Shickshinny First UMC) challenged the youth to raise $500 for Mission Central and 500 cans for the local food pantry. If they did, he would run the 5K in a turkey suit and the youth leader would run as a pumpkin. The kids rose to the challenge and came through!
We were also honored with wonderful sponsors this year:
Belco Community Credit Union, Spencer LeFevre Photography, Jennifer Stumbaugh Photography, Cardin & Miller, Century 21, D&H Distributors, Filson Water, Toni & Art Oplinger, Computer Ministry, Classic Drycleaners, Giant Food Stores and BBEC, Inc.
We truly thank all of the amazing people who came together to make this day happen. Our volunteers, as always, were integral to the success of the event and our sponsors and runners combined to really make a difference and help us continue to help others as we touch over 2 million lives annually.
Remember to mark Halloween Weekend, October 28th, 2017, on your calendars for next year’s 5K!
